What almost two decades in HR Taught Me

I spent years at the core of organizations - where executive decisions were made, HR policies designed, and leadership programs implemented.

Stress is not a time management problem. It is not a workload problem. It is not a culture problem. At least not primarily.

It is a nervous system problem we are trying to solve with frameworks and policies.

When leaders operate in chronic stress mode:

Strategic thinking diminishes

Emotional regulation suffers

Decision-making turns reactive

Innovation flatlines

Connection becomes transactional

You cannot think your way out of a dysregulated nervous system.

No amount of better boundaries, more efficient processes, mindfulness apps, or time management training will create sustainable change if the nervous system has not learned how to truly rest.
